What is

Conscious Parenting

Conscious parenting is a philosophy that has evolved from various educational philosophies and the human potential movement.

When Rudolf Steiner introduced his philosophies in 1919, which emphasized the importance of educating children as individuals, it coincided with the New Thought Movement of the late 19th Century.

It has taken over a century for modern Western culture to begin to appreciate the value of being a consciously aware person, responsible for one's emotions, and understanding human potential, consciousness, awareness, and mindfulness.

These qualities as an adult have led to a parenting philosophy that incorporates this understanding.

~ Educator, Mentor, Intuitive, Author

In the Spring of 1971, I entered my first classroom in New York City, located in the South Bronx. Life in the South Bronx, as well as in New York City as a whole, was quite challenging back then. Metal detectors, police officers, violence, locked doors in classrooms, and teachers living in constant fear were the norm. If you want to glimpse what it was like, look at the South Bronx in 1971.

I was too young to be afraid of any high school students, and I attribute my rapport with them during that time to my intuitive understanding of their needs. Whatever the reason was, it worked!

I declared that New York City classrooms were not for me, and I wanted to leave the United States to explore other countries, schools, and lifestyles. That’s precisely what I did.

From 1979 to 2002, I taught in the suburbs and at the university level before feeling ready to return to the “system.”

1979, I returned to the United States after living and working in Germany. Then, in September 2002, I started teaching in New York City. I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade inclusion classes. The neighborhood was tough, but all the students shared one common desire: they craved love, approval, validation, and understanding that they were “good children.”

Returning to New York City was a blessing from the universe. I knew I had to make my recurring dream of empowering children and their parents a reality.

In 2008, I left my job and started teaching. I also co-founded a private school where we focused on helping children develop their human potential, emotional intelligence, and natural psychic and intuitive abilities. My resource guide, Children Who Know How to Know, culminates the knowledge and experience I gained during that time.

Since 2008, I have been working with children and their parents to raise consciousness and emotional intelligence and ultimately work towards trusting, developing, and utilizing their incredible intuitive/ psi abilities.
