Love is the root of the spiritual path, but there is a difference between egoic love and the state of being love. If you tell someone, ” I love you” and they do not respond with “I love you, too” you might be hurt and/ or angry. But the state of being love doesn’t require a response. It’s a state of being. It’s Being Love without conditions or expectations. Egoic love comes and goes. How many times in our lives have we “fallen in love” and then “fallen out of love?”
Being in a state of love is a beautiful place to aspire to getting during our lifetimes ( my opinion). It’s a state that surrounds us and is unlimited the way egoic love is. Some languages use different words to distinguish the state of being love from the egoic state of “being in love”
The deeper the level of unegoic love, the more your perception of your current reality changes. Awareness and then loyalty to this path become necessary components. Today, I invite you to practice distinguishing between these two types of love. Look at your surroundings and see if you can bring the level of unegoic love to your home, your pets, your plants and then practice bringing this love to your “loved ones.” What would life look like for a few hours if you brought unconditional love and love without expectations and judgements to your family and friends? I’d love to hear your experiences!
Practicing unegoic love is a process. It’s being conscious and mindful of our thoughts and emotions. It’s remembering our Selves and learning to see our Selves from our highest human potential rather than our emotional, habitual ways of being. Once you experience this State you can never return to egoic love!
